It’s this time of year when we start to restock for the coming season that we remember how many local companies we are able to support through Gospenheale Barn. If you enjoy eating and using their products then please consider visiting them while you are in the area for some fantastic retail therapy.
Your welcome pack will usually include delicious Cornish Orchards apple juice, Boddingtons Berries strawberry jam, Rhodda’s clotted cream, Furniss biscuits, teabags from the Cornish Tea Company and a selection of fresh fruit. We buy our flowers from Flower Scene in Launceston and sometimes source extra items from Lifton Farm Shop.
St Kitt’s Herbery supply the lovely Rosemary and Bergamot hand/body wash and shampoo for the bathrooms. You can’t fail to notice the beautiful fused Jo Downs Glass used throughout the barn as windows, minitiles and coasters and you can visit Jo’s studio and shop less than 5 miles from here. Our youngest visitors may discover a gift from Charlie Bears when they arrive as the Bearhouse is located just around the corner from Jo Downs Glass.
Our talented friend Mark Gibbons painted the watercolours of local places that adorn the barn walls and award winning photographer Chris Robbins captured most of our website images as well as stunning prints that are displayed in the barn bedrooms.
The conversion of Gospenheale Barn from cow shippon to dwelling was undertaken by a builder living about 1/4 mile up the road – now that really is “keeping it local”!
